About Snoring
Snoring happens when your body forces air through your throat when it is fully or partially blocked by the muscles and tissues of your tongue, neck, and throat. The air causes those tissues to vibrate, and the resulting sound is a SnoreXit . SnoreXit often results when your jaw relaxes while you sleep and causes the muscles in your throat to collapse and close off your airway.
Many medical professionals agree that an anti-SnoreXit oral appliance is effective if it is adjustable and, more importantly, if the user can easily adjust it on their own. An effective mouthpiece should let you advance your jaw as needed by at least 1 millimeter increments.
Customization is another key feature to look for. The more you can customize the fit of your appliance, the better it will work for you.
The proprietary design of SnoreXit allows you to adjust the advancement settings as needed without any screws, springs, or other hardware components that could damage your teeth or put a strain on your TMJ.
SnoreXit Information
SnoreXit is a mandibular advancement device (MAD) that gently props your lower jaw forward. This helps maintain a clear airway while you sleep and prevents the irritating sound we call “snoring.”
SnoreXit is a one-of-a-kind snoring mouthpiece because it offers many levels of customization including the ability to advance your jaw in one-millimeter increments. Each model lets you select the advancement setting that feels and works the best for you.
Yes, SnoreXit is perfectly safe. The American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine acknowledges that an oral appliance is a safe and effective treatment for the prevention of snoring. SnoreXit contains no harmful hardware like screws or springs that could pose a choking hazard or damage your teeth.
Yes, SnoreXit has been cleared by the FDA for the reduction of snoring. In fact, SnoreXit was the very first anti-snoring mouth guard that was approved for over-the-counter use based on its history of safety and efficacy.
No, there are no small parts on SnoreXit that could present a potential choking hazard. Every element of the device is too large to become lodged in the throat.
Yes, we offer a 30-night guarantee on our products to new customers because we are confident that SnoreXit really works. If there's any reason that you are not satisfied with your purchase, we are happy to refund you the purchase price. Please see our
Preparing and Adjusting SnoreXit
SnoreXit uses the boil-and-bite process to create a custom impression of your teeth. For detailed information on how to create an impression on your SnoreRx, please see our fitting instructions.
Yes. If the first impression you took doesn't clearly display well-defined teeth marks, you can repeat the custom fitting steps one more time. The entire impression process can be done a total of two times.
Yes. SnoreXit patented design lets you move the position of your jaw in one-millimeter increments up to six millimeters.
We recommend you start using SnoreXit on the one-millimeter setting on the first night you wear it. If the snoring hasn't reduced after 3 to 5 nights, then advance your setting by one millimeter. Wear each new SnoreRx setting for a minimum of 3 to 5 nights before you advance it again. Most users get good results on a setting of three to five millimeters.
SnoreXit can be adjusted in one millimeter increments to provide optimal comfort and effectiveness. For detailed information on how to adjust your SnoreXit , please refer to the adjustment instructions on the
Most SnoreXit users find that somewhere between the three- and five-millimeter settings is enough to stop snoring. However, we recommend that you begin wearing SnoreXit at the one-millimeter setting and advance your device gradually if the snoring hasn't improved after a few nights. Every time you advance your SnoreXit , do so by just one millimeter and wear it at that setting for at least 3 to 5 nights before you move it again.
Use and Care of SnoreXit
SnoreXit comes in one standard size, but it accommodates most jaw sizes.
Wearing SnoreXit can become second nature for you, but as with any other oral appliance or prosthetic, it may take a little time to get used to it. Allow yourself up to five nights of consistent use to see if your mouth gets used to the feel of SnoreXit . It's perfectly normal to experience some soreness in your jaw, teeth, and gums during this adjustment phase. But if you have severe pain or discomfort that doesn't fade after a few days of use, then stop using SnoreXit immediately and contact your dentist or physician.
The easiest way to tell if SnoreXit works for you is to have someone listen for snoring sounds while you sleep. If you share a bedroom with someone, then they will definitely let you know!
But when in doubt, try using a smartphone app like Sleep Score or SnoreLab to check for snoring sounds while you sleep.
Although SnoreXit doesn't require you to breathe through your mouth, SnoreXit does allow for full mouth breathing due to its V-Flow™ design.
Clean SnoreXit daily to prevent the buildup of debris and offensive odors. Aseptic Guard is a good cleaning solution that works well for many SnoreXit users. Toothbrush and toothpaste are also effective. Stay away from abrasive cleaners such as mouthwash, dishwashing soap, ammonia, bleach, and other household cleaning products. Give your SnoreXit a chance to air-dry after wearing it or cleaning it.
SnoreXit typically lasts around 6 to 11 months of use, but we can't guarantee a specific length of time as this varies from person-to-person. For example, people who have a habit of grinding their teeth or clenching their jaw while they sleep may wear out their SnoreXit device quickly and need to replace it much sooner than 6 months.
Yes. In fact, we recommend that you tell your dentist that you are using SnoreXit at your next visit.
SnoreXit can start working for you within a week, just as soon as you find the right setting. It's also important to know that dry mouth, a little initial soreness, or even excess drooling are all totally normal when you first start wearing SnoreXit . You can reduce these effects by wearing SnoreXit for a few days during waking hours for at least 45 minutes at a time to help your mouth get used to the sensation.
SnoreXit has only been approved by the FDA for the reduction of snoring, and it is not intended to address any medical condition such as tooth grinding or jaw clenching. If you grind or clench your teeth and purchase SnoreXit , you may notice that your device will need replacement within just a few months.
This totally depends on your individual anatomy and preference. Some people can comfortably close their lips over the device while wearing it, but others might not be able to. SnoreXit is designed to be comfortable and effective either way.
